Champion of the Court Doha College Pupil Leads Qatar to International Basketball Glory
Year 12 pupil Adam J has achieved outstanding international success after captaining Qatar's U18 team to victory at the FIBA Open 3x3 2026, held at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball in Mies, Switzerland – the global headquarters of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

Competing against 16 teams from around the world, Adam led Qatar through an exceptional tournament, winning all five matches to secure the U18 championship title. The achievement is made even more significant as this marked Qatar's first-ever participation in the prestigious FIBA Open 3x3 tournament, making the team's victory a historic milestone.
Selected to represent Qatar following months of dedicated training and preparation, Adam demonstrated outstanding leadership throughout the competition, guiding his teammates from the group stages through to the final to be crowned champions.

At Doha College, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. Whether in academics, the arts or sport, our pupils are encouraged to pursue excellence, embrace challenges and develop the confidence to lead.
Adam's success is a wonderful example of The DC Difference in action. His commitment, resilience and determination reflect the qualities we nurture through the Doha College Learner Profile, where pupils are encouraged to pursue their passions, challenge themselves and strive for excellence in every endeavour.
Sport plays an important role in life at Doha College. Through our extensive Co-Curricular Programme and competitive sporting opportunities, pupils develop far more than athletic ability. They build leadership, teamwork, resilience and confidence, qualities that prepare them for success both on and off the court.
Being selected to represent a nation on the international stage is an achievement in itself. To captain the team to an international title demonstrates not only exceptional sporting talent but also the character and leadership that define outstanding athletes.
Behind every international competition lies countless hours of dedication, discipline and perseverance. Adam's success is a testament to the rewards of hard work and serves as an inspiration to other pupils to pursue their own ambitions with determination and confidence.
We are incredibly proud of Adam for representing both Qatar and the Doha College community with such distinction and congratulate him on this remarkable achievement. We look forward to following his sporting journey and celebrating many more successes in the future.
